Quiz questions about the 1940s were among the highlights of a Christmas party for the elderly residents of James Court in Warwick.
The event, which took place on Saturday, was organised by Leamington and Warwick Soroptimists who run parties at the retirement housing scheme twice a year.

Free raffle tickets were given to the pensioners, games of bingo took place, Father Christmas dropped by to hand out gifts and a festive feast was served during the party.

June James, who has been a member of the Soroptimist organisation for 40 years, said: “The thing I liked best about the day was that everybody contributed in some way and it was a real club effort.

“James Court is a place we go to where the ladies are so pleased to see us.

“The parties give them great pleasure and it all went really well.”
