Plagued by chewing gum on our streets

WHILE walking from the parish church to the top of town, I was struck by the evidence of a number of people who spit out their unwanted chewing gum onto the pavement.
If the county council does not want to spend its money clearing up the mess, it should demand the right to put a tax on every packet of gum sold in Warwickshire.
The question remains: is there any population in the world which is so willing to foul its country as we Britons so casually do? - W S Baker, Moorhill Road, Whitnash.
