L'Oreal stylists were so impressed with a Lillington hairdressing student that they awarded her a silver medal.
Warwickshire College student Sharon Harris, pictured, competed against 14 other hairdressers from across the country in the UK Skills Hairdressing Competition at the L'Oreal International Academy in London.

She said: "I was really chuffed when I found out where I'd finished because the other hairdressers were great, so it was a big surprise.

"Competitions can be quite daunting but the course really helped because it is very hands on and you gain a lot of practical experience. I also got a lot of support from my tutors who have been great."

The 23-year-old, of Lillington Road, is also grateful to staff at the college's nursery, who look after her three-year-old son while she attends classes.
