Fireworks, a large bonfire and seasonal food at Kenilworth Castle will ensure this year's Round Table bonfire goes with a bang.
The event will be held at the castle on November 3 and a Guy is needed for the bonfire. The Kenilworth Round Table organising committee will be running a competition for the best Guy to put on top of the bonfire.
It will be open to all children
of junior school age who present a guy at Brays Car Park by the public entrance to Kenilworth Castle by 12pm on the Saturday.
The best Guy will be awarded by the Kenilworth Round Table committee chairman and will be placed at the top of the bonfire ready for lighting that night.
The other entries will be placed around the sides of the bonfire, so whilst every entry will be appropriately burned, only one will have pride of place on top.
The organising committee will also be looking for volunteers from charitable organisations. The round table needs a few extra helpers to assist with clearing the site on Sunday.
Anyone who has a couple of hours to spare and represents a local charity group can make themselves known to site manager Daniel Easter on 852940 or 07837 652283 before the day. Donations will be made from the bonfire proceeds to a local charity of the volunteers choice in return for their time.
The entrance off Castle Road will open to the public from 5.30pm on Saturday with the main display starting around 7pm and lasting for an hour.
There will be refreshment stalls in the Brays car park and in the viewing field.
Parking in town will be more restricted than usual due to the development work, so visitors are being reminded to allow for that.
