Budding Kenilworth poets have been rewarded for their hard work.
More than 40 school age youngsters took part in an autumn poetry competition run by Warwickshire Direct.

During the summer, 'Warwickshire Direct' sold entrance tickets for the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society and to show their appreciation, the society offered a donation, which was put towards prizes for the competition.

Sheila Cole and Sally Carrick of Carrick travel judged the competition and a special presentation of book voucher prizes was held by the town Mayor Councillor Pat Ryan. Prizes were also contributed by Browsers Bookshop in Talisman Square.

Mayor Coun Pat Ryan presents the prizes to Aaron Whitehouse Pope 6, Rebecca Horley 10, Barney Sampson 9 (winner of the 7-11 category) and Holly Ballard 7. Also pictured are Sheila Cole (judge from the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society), Mayoress Joan Ryan and Sally Carrick. 07OCT185
