DANCE
SE7EN, Playbox Theatre, June 27

The concept of the seven deadly sins was vividly expressed by choreographer and director Kat Osborn in Playbox Theatre’s first ever all-dance show, SE7EN.

SE7EN achieved the difficult task of seamlessly linking t
ogether a variety of different dance styles, providing a dynamic portrayal of the seven deadly sins. The performance was exciting and vibrant; each different dance style was carried out with professionalism and enthusiasm to create a fast-moving, energetic show.

SE7EN was full of dramatic and creative moments, such as a spectacular aerial artist who performed spellbinding, gravity-defying tricks whilst suspended from red silk material. Every member of the 28-strong cast was passionate about what they were doing, which shone through in their execution and contributed to the electric atmosphere in the auditorium.

In fact there was only one negative thing about SE7EN – there was so much going on it was impossible to take it all in! It was a show you would have to see again in order to appreciate it in its entirety.

SE7EN was a fast-paced, action-packed show. The brilliant soundtrack, use of humorous scenes and vivid costumes all contributed to SE7EN’s overall ‘wow’ factor. The show certainly lived up to its promise to be “a thrilling indulgence for everyone!” Kate Noonan

Verdict: Stunning, energetic and dynamic.
